More about me.

Meet Katherine:

The calling: Supporting the journey beyond addictive patterns.

I’ve been in the helping people profession for 42 years. I’ve spent 17 of those years working within the field of addiction and co-dependency treatment. Personally inspired by my own life experiences I understood that once recognized, the pain within addiction can become the threshold to transformative spiritual awareness. From the brokenness where the deepest shame that fragments all that is meaningful, lies a pulse beating quietly as the catalyst for wholeness. Held within compassionate presence we can respectfully explore that which is yet unhealed often reflected in early developmental years. Our humanness longs for connection to our genuine sense of self, waiting to be seen and met within. Because addictive patterns lead to relational pain my expertise focuses primarily on codependency issues. Let us begin the dialogue, support is here for you.

The calling: Qigong Instructor

Being a therapist I learned a lot about myself. Not unique by any means over time I had compromised my internal resources by providing care for others. Eventually, chronic physical pain infringed on my capacity to function therapeutically. Becoming depleted of life force energy (Qi) I qualified for a medical disability. At age 46 I left a profession I had loved physically compromised and in a state of grieving. Fortunately, a year later I attended a pain support group where I met my first Qigong teacher. With little energy remaining, I began day by day to regain my strength and within a matter of months my body was on a healing journey. Once I had regained vitality I experienced the heartfelt desire to help others who were physically compromised. My healing inspired the compassion to teach and I have continued to do so for 24 years. As a certified Medical Qigong instructor I offer restorative practices in support of the caregivers whether you are doing so privately for loved ones or as a professional. My services offer a path of guidance towards restoration no matter what the cause of depletion. Together we will find ways to support your daily living and not be seen as just one more thing to do. Services are available in both individual and group settings. This is not just movement it is “Embodied Qigong, Stillness within movement”.

The Calling: Realization Process Teacher

My husband’s medical condition the last 7 years of our marriage as one would expect, had a great impact on both of us. As his life was coming to an end, I felt the importance of finding a means to regain my footing. I had heard of Judith Blackstone author and founder of The Realization Process over 20 years prior and early on realized the value in her teachings. I revisited her first book that I still had in my possession and along with her recordings I began studying at home on my own the last 4 months of his life. Compassionately held within the healing community of senior teachers, I engaged in training soon after his passing and have become fully certified. The Realization Process since 2019 has provided immeasurable benefits for me. I welcome you to join me in your journey towards wholeness. I teach meditation, and embodiment practices and provide the spiritual psychotherapy “Healing Ground” for trauma with Advanced certification in both “Embodiment and Healing Ground”. All the Realization practices for non-dual awakening are offered individually and in groups. Embodiment practices in combination with Qigong are available for those interested.

 The Calling: Compassionate Witnessing

Within weeks after my husband’s passing, the epidemic took over. Isolation lasting over 2 years offered absolutely no diversion from experiencing grief. Nor did it allow a critically important aspect of sorrow where loss can be supported within the community. I became acutely aware as I am sure many others have during that time, the importance of not grieving alone. In 2022/2023 I entered training deepening my understanding of the movement of life and its significance in all life transitions from birth to death. During my 2 year study, I experienced the unwinding of emotional pain with supported bereavement, intensive life reviews, seminars, and workshops that increased my sensitivity educationally along with personal integration. Now with the education and personal healing on how to live with the liminal spaces of uncertainty, I am here as a guide and companion for life’s many transitions. The “Our Safe Journey Home” workshop offers a group experience to share in discussing end-of-life issues, which I offer locally and online in the future. Waitlist available.

My history offers a rich palate as an artist in fine art photography traveling with my husband Jim Cagle, artist and professor of art. Together we were in search of the nuance within textures, tonality, and the dance of light. With spending many years close to nature in landscape photography and the wide range of possibilities in darkroom work, my experiences provided richness and depth to my way of seeing the world. I bring this skill into working with people now.

The photographs here on the site were taken by my husband Jim in Death Valley and Utah.
